1) European Melioidosis Network Meeting.
A big event where melioidosis researchers around the world met every 3 years. In 2012, it's hold at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on Friday 24, February 2012. Here are the

2) Soil Sampling Workshop in India.
A series of lecture and workshop was set up at Manipal University, India, to provide opportunity to local researchers to see B. pseudomallei colonies first hand and gain practical experience on its identification. The links for the activities are as following.
3) Melioidosis Clip Contest in Thailand.
Thailand Melioidosis Network launched the first public engagement campaign, which was a video clip contest entitled “Melioidosis, an infectious disease that Thais must know” (

1) Melioidosis in Arts
Wellcome Collection has commissioned B-floor to produce works inspired by local scientific research. To produce its stage show, B-Floor focused on anti-malaria and melioidosis work done by the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU). The result is Survival Games: A Science Performance, which combines dance theatre with video and shadow puppetry, alongside an exhibition and installations...." [

2) World Melioidosis Congress 2013
The 7
th World Melioidosis Congress 2013 will assemble a great range of medical professionals and scientists. Its objective is to support linkage between experts from all around the world and to help them discussing, exchanging, and sharing their knowledge, experiences and opinions for mutual awareness of global threats from Melioidosis. There will also be a two-day pre-congress workshop on 16
th -17
th September 2013 in Ubon Ratchathani province, where nearly 500 cases of melioidosis occur every year. Participants will have an extremely valuable opportunity to see patients at Sappasithiprasong Hospital and visit the MORU service and research melioidosis laboratory. [
